A decade-long conservation effort has restored rhinos to Zinave National Park, marking a major milestone in protecting one of Africa’s most endangered species.
Mozambique has achieved a significant wildlife conservation milestone after successfully relocating 61 rhinos to Zinave National Park as part of an ambitious restoration project. The initiative includes 39 white rhinos and 22 critically endangered black rhinos, helping rebuild populations that were wiped out by decades of civil war and poaching. Since 2016, more than 2,500 animals from 16 different species have been reintroduced to the park, transforming it into a thriving ecosystem and giving new hope for Africa’s endangered wildlife.
